Obituary of Constance "Dena" Liberti

Constance G. “Dena” (Spaneas) Liberti, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 12, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent F. Liberti. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George P. and Anthoula (Psoinos) Spaneas. Connie graduated from Peabody High School and met Vinnie while working at Vulcan Electric in Danvers. They were married on July 3, 1955 and resided and raised their children in Peabody their entire life. Connie was a lifelong member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. She worked at Purity Supreme in Beverly and Peabody. She enjoyed knitting, music, dancing, ice cream, visits to the Salem Willows and cooking for everyone. Her kitchen was always the center of activity for family and friends year-round. She especially loved spending time with and cooking for her grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face. Connie is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Marlene M. Pittsley and her husband Michael D. Pittsley of Peabody and her loving and dedicated son Peter G. Liberti of Peabody and his former spouse Marilou Liberti of Newmarket, NH. She was yiayia to her beloved grandchildren, Ross M. Pittsley of Peabody, Katherine M. Pittsley and Cordero G. Marrero of Lawrence, Peter E. Liberti and Isabelle L. Liberti of Newmarket, NH. She was predeceased by her brothers Peter G., Nicholas G. and Daniel G. Spaneas and her sisters Stamatia G. Pappafotopoulos, Stella G. Maniatakos and Irene G. Spaneas as well as many sisters and brothers in law. She is survived by 3 sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Connie’s family would like to thank her compassionate caregivers, especially Veronica and Amanda who took extra special care of her. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St, DOWNTOWN Peabody facility, and her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home at 20 Church, St to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
