Obituary of Bob Connors Sr.

Robert E. “Bob” Connors, Sr. of Peabody, originally from Milton, MA passed away on February 16, 2021 at the age of 90. Loving husband of 68 years to Eleanor M. (Venezia) Connors. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Rosella (Adams) Connors and his brothers, Edward, Donald, and Richard Connors and sisters, Rosemary Malloy and Marcia Carman and his beloved son, Edward W. Connors. Loving father and father-in-law to Robert Connors, Jr. and his wife, Joanne and their son, Robert Connors, III (Bobby); Ellen Connors and her partner, Christopher Morin; Rosemary Connors-Botto and her husband, James Botto and their children, Michael Botto, Jill Tryder and her husband, Tod and their children, Maggie and Cal; Amy Guider and her husband, Richard and their children, Olivia and Sam. He will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews. Bob grew up in Milton and graduated from Northeastern University. He enjoyed a successful career in sales for over 40 years. He loved driving, especially throughout New England and the Mid-Coast states for work and vacation. Photography and reading were a pleasure when he was younger especially integrative health research, the possibility that other worlds existed, and all things WWII. The photographic slide library of his young family is extensive. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage and treasured the song “Danny Boy” which he could still recite from memory even in his last days. He spent years carefully researching his genealogy and loved telling people he was descended from Kings of the O’Connor Clan of Ireland. Once retired, he spent over 20 wonderful winters with his wife, Ellie, at their condo in Largo, Florida. He leaves this world a gentle and kind man. A visiting hour will be held at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
