Obituary of Raymond R Dion

Raymond R Dion, 93, of Lynnfield, died Tuesday February 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Marie S (Falzarano) Dion with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Edmond and Olivine (Roy) Dion. He was raised and educated in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corp and served during WWII. Raymond was a butcher by trade and worked throughout the metro Boston area supermarkets for many years before retiring years ago. He loved working with his hands, either building and or repairing something and was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Mark Dion of Lynnfield, his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Hult-Andrews and Bill Andrews of Hampton, NH, his siblings, Paul Dion of Revere, Gerald Dion of NH, Yvonne Petrosino of Plymouth, and Cecile Resca of Peabody and is also survived by his beloved three grandchildren, Ashley, David, and Caitlyn, his three great grandchildren, Emmaline, Rowan, and Lily, and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Norman Dion, Yvette Pizzano and Theresa Erickson. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH chapter at www.alz.org/MANH
