Obituary of Jean M. (Dalelio) Ferry
Jean M. (Dalelio) Ferry, 72, of West Peabody, wife of the late Francis J. Ferry Sr., died Thursday October 5, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Peabody following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ferry’s strong faith has allowed her to fight her cancer for 34 years.
Mrs. Ferry was born on June 3, 1934 in East Boston, daughter of the late Angelo Dalelio and Josephine (Fagone) Dalelio Siderski. She was raised in East Boston and attended East Boston Girls High School. In 1959 she moved to West Peabody where she has since resided.
Mrs. Ferry was employed for 38 years a clerk at Marshalls in Danvers until her retirement in 2001 due to her illness. Her family came first and foremost and she enjoyed cooking and baking for them and their friends. She loved her home, her plant garden and shopping. “Everyone knew her as Nonnie and she will be greatly missed.”
Mrs. Ferry was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Cheryl J. and Stephen Whittier of Peabody, Mary Ann “Mae” and James Tennihan of Everett, Frank J. Ferry Jr., and Diana Ferry of Peabody; beloved sister of Charles Siderski of Salem and Shirley Zizza of Peabody; loving “Nonnie” to Melissa and Jonathan Whittier, Lauren and Matthew Ferry all of Peabody, Jason Gerardi of Malden, Christopher Gerardi of Natick, James Tennihan Jr. of Everett; aunt to David Siderski and several other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (new facility) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell Street, West Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
