Obituary of Robert J. Emmett

Danvers – Robert J. Emmett 86, beloved husband of Joanne (Nolet) Emmett, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Foley) Emmett. He was raised in Peabody and attended the Peabody school system. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam Era as a member of the United States Army. Mr. Emmett had been employed for many years as a model and last maker for the Clarks Shoe Company in Massachusetts until the time of his retirement. He was also a licensed barber who cut hair as recent as two years ago. He was a member of the Peabody Elks and the Knights of Columbus in Peabody. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving him are two sons, Brian J. Emmett and his wife, Kelli of Freedom, NH and Kevin R. Emmett and his wife, Stacey of Middleton, seven grandchildren, Kristina, Brian Jr., Cameron, Rachael, Timothy, Shannon and Meghan, a great granddaughter, Miera, three brothers, William Emmett, David Emmett and Richard Coombs and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Noreen Emmett. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed St., Haverhill MA 01832.
