Obituary of Mary A Ballard

Mary A (Ukleja) Ballard, 86, of Peabody, died peacefully at home Thursday February 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Robert D Ballard. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Sophie (Szarek) Ukleja and the sister of the late Thaddeus and Stanley Ukleja, and Jane Cwalina. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and has lived in Peabody for the past 55 years. Mary worked as a hairdresser at Phillip’s Coiffeurs in Swampscott for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and accordion and was a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Full of fun, Mary loved to dress in costume, sing and dance to music, and enjoyed her hot fudge sundaes. Most of all, she cherished being and sharing in all activities with her family. Mary is survived by her four children, Roy and his wife Linda Ballard of Lynn, Holly and her husband Richard Yaffi of Lynn, Brenda and her husband Thomas Morton of Lynn, and Robert and his wife Cheryl Ballard of Groveland. By her beloved grandchildren, Tara Yaffi of Lynn, Lindsey Jillian and Kelsey Ballard of Lynn, Brandon Ryan and Brianna Ballard of Groveland, and by her great-grandson, AJ Zayas of Lynn. Mary was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held privately.
