Obituary of Dr. George J Donahue

Dr. George J Donahue, at 92, passed peacefully on March 2, 2021. He was born on December 9, 1928 and raised in Peabody by his loving parents, the late Dr. George Donahue and Helen (Sullivan) Donahue. He attended St. John’s Grammar School and St. John’s Prep. George then graduated from Harvard University. He enlisted in the Korean War and was stationed at A.P. Hill, where he met the love of his life, Judith. Upon being honorably discharged for the army he returned to Peabody and received his B.S. Master’s Degree from Boston University. He went on to go to New York University Dental School. George had a long Dental Practice in Peabody. He and Judith married and spent 63 years of devoted love. They have five children, George Donahue III, Lauren Eagan, Kenneth Donahue and his wife Tracy, Helen Meroli and her husband Jeff, and Robert Donahue. He leaves eight grandchildren, Brittany Eagan, Philip Eagan, Elizabeth Donahue, Michael Donahue, David Donahue, Sarah Mondi, Samuel Mondi, and Michelle Mondi. He also leaves one great grandchild, Sage, and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Dr. Frederica Battaglia, and by his infant grandson Adam Mondi. George loved golfing with is friends at Bass Rocks in Gloucester and at The Meadows in Peabody and was an avid bridge player. Judith and George spent their later years traveling all over Europe, especially Paris. Due to the Covid-19 virus and the current restrictions all services will be held privately.
