Obituary of David L. King

David L. King, 75, of Peabody, passed away early Sunday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Gordon) King, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. David was born in Malden, on June 26, 1945, son of the late Carl and Bertha (Livingston) King. Prior to his retirement he had worked as a department manager for the U.S. Department of Treasury. He was a member of All Saints Church in Danvers. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, especially to his favorite place, Sackville, Canada, camping, listening and dancing to 60’s music, most importantly he loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Linda of 53 years, he is survived by his children, Andrew King, David Jon King and his wife Christine, Beth Gatteny and her husband Gregory, Matthew C. King and Jessica Cavallaro; his grandchildren, Madison, Grace, Jon, Christian, Lily, Brandon. His loving sisters and brothers Betty, Joe, Jane, Frank and Jeanne and his nieces and nephews, The Patrick, The Hernandez, The Laiacano, The Curran, The Mineo-Goggin and Gordon Families. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, from 4-8P.M. at the Conway, Cahil-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and R.B Trask Adult Day Health Program.
