Obituary of Nancy L. (Charron) Chandler

Peabody- Nancy Lois (Charron) Chandler, 90, beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Chandler, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Phillips Manor Nursing Home in Lynn Mass. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Eileen (Kuansu) Charron. Mrs. Chandler attended Lynn Public Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1947. She resided most of her adult life at 15 Krochmal Rd in Peabody, Massachusetts where she raised her family. She more recently became a resident at the beautiful Assisted Living Community Seasons of Danvers for 4 years. In her younger years Nancy worked for Cushman’s Bakery alongside her mother. Nancy’s number one love was being an antique dealer and collector. Her knowledge was endless. It gave her great joy to share stories from the past with her grandchildren and explain to them the purpose or function of each item she collected and why it was important to preserve the past. She worked at many antique shops throughout her life including The White Elephant and Main Street Antiques in Essex, Massachusetts, Rowley Antiques in Rowley, Massachusetts as well as some shops in Arundel and Kennebunk, Maine until her retirement. Nancy loved her yard sales which is what started her journey to become a collector in the first place. She is self-taught and gained her knowledge through reading books which she also loved to do. Nancy was an incredible seamstress making all her daughters and her own dresses for special occasions. One of her hidden talents was that she was very artistic and painted many still life and nature paintings. She had a love for all animals and owned many cats throughout the years as well as a special dog named Tanya. Nancy had a love for Chocolate, Hershey bars were always in the house. She found night drives to Nahant beach peaceful and relaxing. Nancy is loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy S. Chandler, her granddaughter, Gina, and husband John of NH as well as her great granddaughter, Natalia of NH. Along with Nancy’s husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffery J. Chandler, and her brother Ronald W. Charron.
