Obituary of Mary Kaldes

Mary Kaldes, 94, of Peabody died Tuesday March 9,2021 at home surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Peabody, daughter of the late Andrew and Theodora (Stevis) Venios. Mary was the devoted wife of the late Prokopes Kaldes. Mary is survived by her beloved children: Stephanie Farren Scanlan, Charles and his wife Maureen, Andrew and his fiancee Elaine Leverone and Tedi Markham along with her brother John Venios and his wife Marilyn. Also her cherished grandchildren: Drew, Maura, Nikko, Andrew,Matthew and the late Patrick. She leaves behind her adored niece Tedi Tournas Murray of Idaho and her children Jason and Janelle, Evan and sweet Mazzy. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Michael Venios, Ellen Venios, Diane Nikola and Eva Tournas. Mary's greatest pleasure was being with her family. Her faith gave her solace and strength which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her strong spirit and kindness was experienced by many. May her memory be eternal. Mary was a proud and active member of the St Vasilios Greek Orthodox community and leaves behind many dear friends especially Paula Halepakis. Due to the pandemic services will be private. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the St. Vasilios Elevator Fund. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
