Obituary of Robert "Bobby" Gallo

Robert “Bobby” Gallo, 79, of East Boston passed away on March 18th surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and beloved first wife, Lucille McCauley. Bobby was the first of five children born to late Phyllis (Buonopane) Gallo and Marco Gallo on April 19, 1941. PROUD FATHER to Doreen Blaisdell and husband Liam of Peabody; Cheryl A. Leon-McCormick and husband Thomas of Middleton, and Robert P. Gallo and wife Natalie of North Reading; Stepfather to Lyn Macaskill and David Curcio. LOVING PAPA to Nicolas and Ariana Blaisdell; Aaron, Naiomi, and Andre Leon; Mia and Domenic Gallo, step-grandchildren; Brianna and Kylee Macaskill, and lastly, his beloved chihuahua, Paco. He is also survived by his brothers, Peter and Marco and sisters Josephine Antico and Nancy Russell. As well as his sister-in-law, Angela Ciulla, former wife, Marie Curcio, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Bobby graduated from East Boston High and earned an associate degree from Bunker Hill Community College. He served in the United States Navy before going on to become an Officer and Detective for the Boston Police Department. After a 39-year tenure, he retired from the BPD. Family always came first for Bobby. He loved life and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Bobby will be deeply missed. Visiting hours are at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, Thursday, March 25, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
