Obituary of Mary (Correia) Rodrigues

Mary (Correia) Rodrigues, 91, of Peabody, died Friday morning at the Beverly Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Jose Rodrigues. She was born in Peabody on August 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Correia and had resided in Peabody most of her life. She had been employed in the leather industry in Peabody for over 20 years prior to her retirement 35 years ago. She had been a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Portuguese American Continental Union Post 10 of Peabody. Mrs. Rodrigues also belonged to the Golden Age Club of Peabody and visited the Peter Torigian Life Center frequently. With her late husband, she used to winter in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is survived by a son, Gary Rodiques and his companion, Claire Mc Grath both of Westwood, MA, her 2 granddaughters and their spouses, Karen Rodriques and Robert Zelle of Stow, MA and Kathie Rodriques and Christos Stasinos of Del Ray Beach, FL, her two great grandchildren, Jason and Robert Zelle of Stow, MA , a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Angelo Garcia of New Bedford, Ma and a sister-in-law, Ida Duarte of Portugaland many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday from the Funeral Home at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
