Obituary of Sr. Margaret Marie Murphy SND

Sister Margaret Marie Murphy SND, of Ipswich, October 20,2006. Sr Murphy was born Margaret Mary Murphy on January 15, 1925 in Brighton, MA, daughter of the late William F. and Margaret M. (Tully) Murphy. She is survived by her nephews William F. Murphy of Redwood City, A and Robert Murphy of Trinidad, CA and many cousins and her family the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Sister Murphy served 62 years of religious life with ministries in Beverly, Roxbury, Brighton, Danvers and 27 years in Somerville. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Emmanuel College and Masters Degree from Boston College. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen Chapel on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 3:00 PM at the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Residence, 30 Jeffrey’s Neck Road, Ipswich. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ipswich. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur retirement fund, 30 Jeffrey’s Neck Rd., Ipswich, MA 01938.
