Obituary of Rita E. (Gaudreault) Champagne

Rita E. (Gaudreault ) Champagne, 84, of Peabody, died Wednesday January morning in Union Hospital in Lynn after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Lucien Pat Champagne. Born in Salem on December 31, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Corrine (Bouchard) Gaudreault. She had lived in Peabody for the past 55 years. She was a veteran of WW11, who served in the U. S. Navy as a Seaman First Class and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Station in Patuxent River, MD and Wave Quarters F Arlington Farms, VA. Mrs. Champagne dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard P. and Frances Champagne of Peabody, Norman A. Champagne of Peabody, two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia R. and Martin Crichton of Lynn and Ellen J. Gaudette of Peabody, a brother, Albert Gaudreault of VA, nine grandchildren, Fawn Ellen Hatfield, Corrine Anne Champagne, Andrea Beth Champagne, Kevin James Crichton, Karen Anne Crichton, Pamela Ellen Crichton, Michael John Gaudette Jr., James Patrick Gaudette, Jennifer Rita Burkinshaw, also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Johnny , Eugene, Rosario, Armand and Joseph Gaudreault, Yvonne Letarte, Lillian Potter, Germaine Gaudreault and grandmother of the late Debra Ellen Gaudette. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on January 28, 2005. Burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
