Obituary of Barbara L. (Brooks) Brigham

Barbara L. (Brooks) Brigham, 79, of Lynnfield and formerly of Saugus, died Monday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Wayland Brigham. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Amanda (Kinney) Brooks. She was raised and educated in Saugus, attended Saugus Public Schools and was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1943. She had been living in Lynnfield for the past 53 years. Besides being a homemaker, she worked as an executive secretary for the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston for over sixteen years before retiring. She was very active in the Center Congregational Church in Lynnfield; she served as a volunteer and membership clerk and historian, taught Sunday school, as well as serve as a secretary for the Ministers over a number of years. She also enjoyed doing genealogy research. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Brigham of Michigan, and Thomas and Robin Brigham of Lynnfield and is also survived by five grandchildren, Shannon, Mathieu, Amanda, Jeffrey, and Ryan Brigham. She was the sister of the late Earl Bud Brooks. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Center Congregational Church, Lynnfield. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Lynnfield.
