Obituary of Mary Isabel (Costa) Mello

Mary Isabel (Costa) Mello, 88, of Peabody died Wednesday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Mello. She was born in Peabody on October 24, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Silva) Costa and had resided here all her life. She had been employed in the leather industry at the Richard Young Leather Company of Peabody for 10 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed sewing and being for her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Joseph Reynold “Ray” and Eileen Mello of Stoneham, 2 grandchildren, Terrence and Gregory Mello both of Stoneham, a sister, Mildred Justo of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
