Obituary of Georgia Nickola
Georgia Nickola, 84, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Salem Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Peabody on February 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Philip and Bessie M. (Vera) Nickola and was a lifelong resident of the city.
She had been employed at the Osram Sylvania at the Sylvan St., Danvers plant for 45 years prior to her retirement in 1985.
She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church and belonged to the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptohos Society. She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Nancy Nickola and James Nickola all of Peabody, a sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and John Quartarone of Salem, six nieces and nephews, Catherine Jaycox of Fitchburg, Stephen and Paul Nickola of Peabody, David Quartarone of Salem, Elise Packard of York, Me and Philip Nickola of Brentwood, NH and many grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late William Nickola and Cleopatria Nickola.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility . Her Funeral will be held on
Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the Funeral home followed by Services in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Vasilios Altar Fund, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960 in her memory.
