Obituary of Brigida (Mangiafico) Marci

Brigida (Mangiafico) Marci, 90, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Marci who died in 2002. She was born in Sicily, Italy on March 25, 1916, the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Antonia (Carbone) Mangiafico and had resided in Peabody for the past 46 years. She had been a stitcher for the New England Sportswear Company of Peabody for 12 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed gardening with flowers and vegetables and loved to cook, crochet and knitting. She is survived by 3 sons and two daughters-in-law, Sebastian and Patricia Marci of Salinas, Kansas, Salvatore and Anick Marci of Lawrence and Paul Marci of Indianapolis, IN, a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Joseph Lenares of Peabody, seven grandchildren, Maria Molica and Cristina Lenares Antalik both of Peabody, Bridget Santo of Danvers, Michele Marci of Lawrence, MA, John Marci and Lisa Marhefka both of PA and Joseph Marci of VA, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Paul Marci. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
