Obituary of Michael A. Opidee, Jr.

Michael A. Opidee Jr., 53, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died early Saturday afternoon at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Nancy (Mulley) Opidee with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of Mary (Flynn) Opidee of Peabody and the late Michael A. Opidee, Sr. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1970. Upon marrying his wife Nancy, he moved to Danvers and has lived there ever since. He was a technical support director with the Pet Edge Company in Topsfield and has worked for that company for over 20 years. He was very much a family man who also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Eric and Alex Opidee, both of Danvers, his three sisters, Marie Opidee and Marilyn Opidee and her companion William Boneau, all of Peabody, and Marlene and her husband, Douglas Austin of Ipswich, his sister-in-law, Susan and her husband Russell Wildman of Saugus, his four nieces and nephews, Kevin and Lisa Wildman and Casey and Jake Austin and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church on Sylvan St., in Danvers to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
