Obituary of Robert Comeau

Merrimack, New Hampshire, November 24, 2006. Robert Comeau, 78, of Merrimack, NH and formerly of Lynn and Peabody, died early Friday afternoon at the Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in New Hampshire, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Charlotte (Willis) and Barbara (Curtin) Comeau. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mina (Boudreau) Comeau. He was raised and educated in Lynn, was a graduate of St. Jean’s High School in Lynn and has spent the last five years living in New Hampshire. He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army. After the war, he worked for over 35 years for the West Lynn Creamery, delivering ice cream to the areas ice cream shops and supermarkets. He was a member of the American Legion post 131 in Lynnfield and also was an avid Red Sox Fan. He is survived by his two daughters, Jeanne Hillios of Saugus and Marie McDermott of Port St. Lucie, FLA., his brother, Gerald and his wife Sara Comeau of Silver Spring, MD, his five grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Peter Brennan, Wayne and his wife Lynn Tranfaglia, John Tranfaglia, and Logan and Sean McDermott, and his five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime good friend and companion for the last 28 years, with the last eight years as a caregiver, Ethel Arsenault of Merrimack, NH. He was the father of the late Sandy Tranfaglia and the brother of the late Wilfred and Albert Comeau. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
