Obituary of B. Florence "Fonnie" (Osgood) Tedford

B. Florence Fonnie (Osgood) Tedford, 100 years, wife of the late Arthur S. Tedford, died Monday at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody. Mrs. Tedford was born July 15, 1902 in Peabody daughter of the late Walter E. and Sarah E. (Larrabee) Osgood. She was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School class of 1920. She was employed as a stitcher at the former Danvers Bleachery in Peabody from 1918 until 1922. She then married and raised her family. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Peabody and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing the piano and organ. She is survived by a sister, Helen Judge of Pepperell; a brother, John Osgood of Buffalo, NY; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Tedford of Peabody; a son-in-law, John Young of FL and Nova Scotia; six grandchildren, Cheryl DiLorenzo of Peabody, John Young, Jr. of Ipswich, Jacqueline O’ Brien of Cambridge, Bruce Young of Billerica, Susan Haille of Ohio and Deborah English of PA; twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert Tedford, Shirley Young and June Tedford and sister of the late Lawrence and Ralph Osgood, Annie Lydia Ramsey, Lena Pierce and Margaret Laniak. Her memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Edgerly Memorial Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 100 Rear Cedar Grove Ave., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. There will be no visiting hours. Inurement will follow memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
