Obituary of Richard E. Delmonico

Richard E. Delmonico, 78, of Peabody, died Saturday at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Lynn, Ma on February 17, 1928, the son of the late Peter and Angelina (Tirabassi) Dellamonica and had resided there before moving to Peabody 47 years ago. He had been employed with the American Airlines in the maintenance division at Logan Airport for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1984. He had been a veteran of WW 11 serving in the Marine Corps and later in the Vietnam War serving with the US Army prior to his discharge as a Sergeant First Class in 1960. He was a member of the Swampscott VFW. Mr. Delmonico was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing in the New England Waters. He was a member of the Swampscott Yacht Club as well as the Swampscott Club for many years. He also enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and vacationing in Aruba. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Michael Paquette of Wilmington, MA and Lori and Damian Anketell of Peabody, MA, a sister, Florence Ellison of Peabody, 3 grandchildren, Paul Delmonico of Salem and Adam and Ashley Paquette of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews. He was the sister of the late Eleanor Rando. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Swampscott Yacht Club, Humphrey St., Swampscott. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Veterans lot in Cedar GRove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
