Obituary of John "Bob" Little
John R. “Bob” Little, 76, of Peabody, died early Thursday afternoon at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Lorraine (Thibedeau) Little.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John and Carrie (Maider) Little. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School.
After high school, he enlisted with the United States Army and served as a medic during the Korean War and was Honorable Discharged in January, 1957.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 40 years as a Truck Driver for GTE Sylvania in Danvers and was a member of the Teamster Union, Local 42. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Bob was very much a family man who enjoyed spending his time with his family and is survived by his two daughters, Janice and her husband Mike Barton and Debbie Little, all of Peabody, his loving granddaughter, Michaela, his sister, Phyllis Turner of Peabody, his sister-in-law Clara and her husband Floyd Gilmore of Norwalk. Ct., and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alma Gillow, and Charlotte Woodbury, and Bill Little.
His funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:00 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody Facility, followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
