Obituary of Jennie B. (Prochniewicz) Marques

Jennie B. (Prochniewicz) Marques, 84, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Peabody after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond Marques. She was born in Haverhill on May 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Maryan and Caroline (Cherapak) Prochniewicz and was raised there graduating from Haverhill High School in 1941. She had resided in Peabody for the past 56 years. Mrs. Marques had been employed at the former CBS Hytron Plant in Danvers. She later was employed at the former Jordan Marsh Company at the North Shore Mall for 10 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed doing crocheting, sewing, reading and being for her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peabody Police Sergeant Steven R. and Paula Marques of Methuen, a daughter and son-in-law, Karen D. and Michael Hixson of Rutland, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and Jennie Prochniewicz of Glastonbury, Ct., a sister, Nellie Langlois of Bradford, MA, three grandchildren, Jillian, Alyssa and Steven Marques II and a great granddaughter, Alexandra Marques all of Methuen and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A visitation will be held there prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
