Obituary of Arthur M. Bell
Arthur Mason Bell, 85, of South Peabody, died Thursday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness. He was the husband of the late T. Florence (Beyea) Bell.
He was born in Lynn, Ma on January 11, 1921, the son of the late William and Marie (Hayden) Bell and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He had resided in Peabody for the past 54 years. He was employed at the General Electric Co., Lynn as a jet engine technician for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1983.
A veteran of WW 11, he served overseas in the Asiatic Pacific area with the US Navy for 3 years before his discharge in 1945.
He was a graduate of the Mass Radio School of Boston. He loved to sing and had been a member of a choral group for many years.
He was active in the woodworking shop at the Peabody Council on Aging and enjoyed his summers at his camp in Limerick, Maine.
He is survived by two daughters and their families, Kathy and her husband Joe Lumia and their children, Melissa Ciolino and Kristin Earl and his great grandchildren Devon Muise, Ryan Ciolino and Jason Earl all of Bradenton, Fl and formerly of Gloucester, his daughter Carol and her husband Paul McInnis and their children Shannon and Amanda McInnis all of Peabody, a sister, Eleanor Makie and her children Patricia and Elizabeth Makie all of Peabody, his niece, Diane Swansburg of NH and Florida. He was the brother of the late Louise Graham. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral home followed by Services in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of No Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to St. Paul Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 16 Washington St., Peabody, MA 01960 in his memory.
