Obituary of Manuel Machado

Manuel Machado, 63, of Edgewater, Florida and formerly of Salem, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Volusia County Hospice in Port Orange, Fl after a long illness. He was the husband of Olivia (Picanco) Machado. He was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on January 5, 1943, the son of the late Arthur and Olivia (Conceicao) Machado and was raised and educated there. He had resided in Peabody and Salem for over 30 years before moving to Edgewater, Florida 6 years ago. He had been a carpet Installer for the Rug industry on the North Shore for 25 years. Mr. Machado had been a member of the Knights of Columbus of Salem and while in Florida, her enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of Florida, a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Bonnie Machado of Marblehead, a daughter, Jennifer Machado of Salem, five brothers and three sisters, Lydia Machado of Reading, Charles M. and Joao Machado both of Port St. Lucie, Fl., Osvaldo Machado of Peabody, Juvenal Machado of Alabama, Daniel M. Machado and Maria Bettencourt both of Salem and Leoner Machado of Lynn. He was the brother of the late Zalquiro Machado. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26,2006 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Volusia County, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange Fl. 32129 in his memory.
