Obituary of M. Alice (Le Blanc) Kershaw

M. Alice (Le Blanc) Kershaw PEABODY—M. Alice (Le Blanc) Kershaw, beloved wife of the late James Kershaw, died unexpectedly on Friday morning at the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehab Hospital in Salem following a brief illness. Born in Fitchburg, she was the daughter of the late Alphee and Christine (Poirier) Le Blanc. She lived in Lynn for several years, and graduated from St. Jean the Baptiste High School. She lived in Winthrop for some time, and lived in Peabody for the last 55 years. She worked as an Assembler with General Electric, and later was a Clothes Tagger with Deerskin Factory in Peabody before retiring 29 years ago. Mrs. Kershaw was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody, was a volunteer at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital and later the Kindred Hospital in Peabody, she enjoyed bowling and knitting, and knitted mittens donated to St. Ann’s Church each year. She is survived by: three brothers, George Le Blanc of NH, Arthur Le Blanc of Lynn, and Joseph Le Blanc of FL; two sisters, Jeannette L’Italien and Marie Madigan, both of Peabody, many nieces and nephews, and many dear close friends. Her visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
