Obituary of Daniel J. Paul

Daniel J. Paul PEABODY—Daniel J. Paul, 61, beloved husband of Evelyn (Santos) Paul of Saugus, died unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following a lengthy illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George Paul and Abby W. Collins. He lived in Lynn during his youth and attended Lynn schools. He served in the United States Army where he met Elvis Presley. He worked as a Truck Driver with Reliable Trash Disposal Service for many years before retiring due to a disability 14 years ago. Mr. Paul loved music, Johnny Cash and Country Western, was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and fashioned his style, and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He is survived by: his wife, Evelyn (Santos) Paul of Saugus, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage; one son, Francis Semons of Danvers; two daughters, Linda Benoit of Lynn and Evelyn Radebaugh of Albany, GA; five grandchildren; three brothers, William Paul of Dover, NH, George Paul of AZ, and Al Paul of the North Shore; two sisters, Doris Maker and Vicky Tucker, both of NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Charlie and two brothers that died in childhood. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
