Obituary of Genevieve T. (Wojcik) Dunajski

Genevieve T. (Wojcik) Dunajski, 88 years, wife of the late Theodore B. Dunajski died Saturday at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Dunajski was born Dec. 12, 1913 in Peabody daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Sass) Wojcik. She was raised and educated in Peabody and pursued her education at the Shepard Gill School of Practical Nursing in Boston. She trained for her career as an LPN at the Marlboro Hospital then went on the work at the Rainbow Nursing Home in Peabody. Prior to her retirement in 1974, she along with her sisters Catherine and Sophie owned and operated the Center Nursing Home in Peabody. She was also very involved in the daily operation of the family business, the Dunajski Dairy Inc. of Peabody. She was a member of the P.L.A.V. Post #63, Ladies Auxiliary, St. Michael’ s Society, St. Joseph’ s Ladies Rosary and a former parishioner of St. Joseph’ s Church all in Peabody. She was also a beano enthusiast. She is survived by a son, Theodore B. Dunajski, Jr. of Peabody; a brother, Frederick Wojcik of Westfield; a sister, Ann Walor of Danvers; three grandchildren, David Dunajski of Salem, Christine Cochran and Michael Dunajski both of Peabody; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Carol, Frank, Henry, John and Nora Wojcik, Catherine Levchuk, Sophie Matson and Helen Bates. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Salem-Peabody line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
