Obituary of William J. Squires

William J. Squires, Jr. PEABODY--William J. Squires Jr., 63, of Peabody, died Thursday in his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Cambridge on September 29, 1943 to the late William J. Squires and Florence M. (Millen) Squires of Cambridge. He graduated from Cambridge Rindge Technical School. After high school he served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. After the war, he resided in Lynn with his family and later moved to Peabody, where he resided for many years with his family, including his wife and partner of 26 years, Frances C. (McCormack) Squires. He worked for nearly 10 years as a sales manager for Merrimack Valley Distributing Company in Danvers. He later worked as a general manager for Lubrication Equipment & Accessories in Medford. Bill most recently worked as an operations manager of Hutchinson Medical in Salem until his retirement. Bill enjoyed spending time with family, carpentry and cooking. He also enjoyed gardening, vacationing with his family and watching football with family and friends. In addition to his wife, Frances, and mother, Florence, Bill is survived by his sons, William J. Squires, III, Joseph J. Squires, Richard A. Donnelly and Kevin H. Donnelly; his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth K. Hamp, Joanne E. Donnelly and Julie L. Donnelly; his grandson, Ryan J. Donnelly; his brothers, James E. Squires and Stephen F. Squires; his sisters-in-law, Barbara A. Squires and Janet (Pappas) Squires; his sisters, Carole Scinicariello and Fran Sullivan; an uncle; and many aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was father of the late Kellie A. Squires. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church Street, Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
