Obituary of William M. LeBlanc

William M. LeBlanc, 85, of Peabody, died Friday at the Harborside Nursing Home in Saugus after a long illness. He was born in Lynn, Ma on January 23, 1920, the son of the late Maurice and Alice (Cassidy) Le Blanc and was raised there before moving to Peabody 40 years ago. He enlisted in the US Army after the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 11, 1941 and served with the Army Air Corps 81st Depot Supply Squadron in the Pacific Theatre operation until his discharge in 1945. Following his discharge, he enrolled in Northeastern University and received his master’ s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was first employed with the General Electric Co. of Lynn and then for 30 years with Raytheon Company in the Andover Plant until his retirement in 1985. He had been a member and past president of the Cy Tenney Club of West Peabody and was an avid golfer. He was the husband of the late Marie N. (Monaco) LeBlanc. He is survived by his current wife, Alma Penny LeBlanc of Peabody, a son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Anne LeBlanc of Salem, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia A. LeBlanc of Lynn and Marie and Frank Acker of Tyngsboro, 2 grandchildren, Joseph LeBlanc and Renee LeBlanc both of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry LeBlanc and Alice Longley. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 10:00 AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’ s Association, Ma.
