Obituary of George J. Sawyer

George J. Sawyer PEABODY—George J. Sawyer, 64, died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Clem) Sawyer. He attended Peabody schools, and graduated from Peabody High School. He was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Sawyer worked at Swift Premium in Peabody for over 20 years, and was then a Machine Operator with Eastman Gelatin in Peabody for over 20 years until his retirement eight years ago. He was a general sports fan, especially the Patriots, and also fishing, any beach, and travel. He is survived by: a brother, Curtis Sawyer of East Bridgewater; three sisters, Carol Banville of NH, Phyllis Kappotis of Beverly, and Janice Sicotte of Plaistow, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a special companion Irene. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Monday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 A.M., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
