Obituary of Leona J. Hudgins

Leona J. (Brassard) Hudgins PEABODY Leona J. (Brassard) Hudgins, 71, of Newbury St., beloved wife of Osbern Hutch Hudgins, died unexpectedly Saturday at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in the North End of Boston, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Thelma (Guest) Brassard. She lived in Lynn in her youth, and attended parochial schools there. She graduated from St. Mary’ s High School in Lynn. Mrs. Hudgins worked as a Stitcher and Repair at St. George Luggage Company in Boston, her family’ s business for about 10 years. She then dedicated herself to being a mother and homemaker, and being home with her family. She was an animal lover who had many pets including cats, birds and others, she was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and was fond of movies including John Wayne and James Bond, the Sean Connery series. She also like travelling by driving on road trips. She is survived by: her husband, Osbern Hutch Hudgins of Peabody, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage; a son, Ted Brassard of Woburn; one granddaughter, Kristin Brassard of Woburn; one brother, Ted Brassard of Salt Lake City, UT, and other family and friends. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:35 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will precede the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
