Obituary of Emma C. (Lowe) Espinola

Emma C. (Lowe) Espinola, 83, of Danvers, wife of the late Charles C. “Bill” Espinola, died unexpectedly on Friday January 19, 2007 in Beverly Hospital. Mrs. Espinola was born on November 12, 1923 in Peabody, daughter of the late Lawrence and Leona (Tremblay) Lowe. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1941. She then pursued her education and served her nursing internship at Malden Hospital. In 1945, she enlisted in the United States Army. As a 1st Lieutenant, she served with the 4th General Hospital in the Philippine as a nurse anesthetist and was awarded the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque. In 1969, she and her husband moved from Peabody to Danvers. Following WW II, in the private sector and as a registered nurse, Mrs. Espinola was employed for many years as a private duty nurse for several North Shore families and also at the J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she had been employed for 20 years in the same capacity with Dr. Snyder’s practice in Swampscott. As hobbies, she was a boating enthusiast and loved to tend to her floral garden. Mrs. Espinola is survived by a sister, Alice M. Caron of Peabody; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Her siblings Lucille Doleski, Albert, Leonard and Arthur Lowe pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held Thursday January 25, 2007 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends may pay their respect Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. John School Scholarship Fund, 17R Chestnut St., Peabody MA 01960
