Obituary of Francis X. O'Neill
Francis X. O’ Neill, 68, of Walnut Street, died late Wednesday evening at the Beverly Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Norma (Melanson) O’ Neill with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Eugene & Margaret (Keavney) O’ Neill. He had lived in Peabody all of his life and had attended Peabody Public Schools.
He had worked at AC Lawrence Leather Co in Peabody, and for 32 years he had worked for Champion Lamps Co., in Lynn and later became Shop Steward for Phillip Norelco Co. He later had worked for 5 years at Shaws Supermarket in Peabody prior to his retirement in 1996. He also was a member of Teamster Union, local 42.
Besides his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Massachusetts State Troopers, Kevin & Kristine O’ Neill of Newbury; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Karen & Brian Ross and Sandra & Frank Novick, all of Peabody, and Ramona Rawson Putnam of Old Town, Fla.; 2 sisters, Margaret Peggy O’ Neill of Peabody and Hannah Pesatoro of Rhode Island; 8 grandchildren, Stanley, Shawn, Mona Lisa, Dawn, Jason, Kaitlyn, Megan, and Jillian; a mother-in-law, Dorilla Dot Dombrowski; 4 great grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard, James, John, and Eugene O’ Neill.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0472, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of Sympathy can be sent to Alzheimer’ s Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.
