Obituary of Josephine G. (Moschetto) Bonfanti

Josephine G. (Moschetto) Bonfanti PEABODY—Josephine G. (Moschetto) Bonfanti, 88, beloved wife of the late Corrado “Charles” J. Bonfanti, died peacefully Monday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a long illness. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Sebastiana (DiPrima) Moschetto. She lived in Lawrence in her youth, attending Holy Rosary School. She lived in Peabody for many years. Mrs. Bonfanti worked as a Sales Clerk with Frances Dry Goods in Lawrence, and besides enjoying and being grateful for her nurturing role with her family, later worked in the Curtains/Domestic Goods at the Ann & Hope Store in Danvers before retiring. She enjoyed crochet and knitting, was a member of the Sons of Italy/Italian Ladies Club, an active communicant at St. Adelaide’s Church and served on the Bazaar Committee and Silver Social Committee. She enjoyed cooking, and was filled with joy when gathering with friends, family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, including: two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela “Bonnie” & Paul Derrivan and Rose-Marie & Bill Newbury of Peabody; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Fawn Bonfanti of Londonderry, NH and Charles & Faith Bonfanti of Highland, IL; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a very close cousin Mary Sapienza of Salem, NH, and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Domenic, Carmelo, and Angelo Moschetto besides her husband and parents. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her funeral, gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in ST. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960 or to a charity of one’s choice.
