Obituary of Eufrosina (Stoenescu) Ionescu

Eufrosina (Stoenescu) Ionescu PEABODY—Eufrosina (Stoenescu) Ionescu, 85, beloved wife of the late Dumitru Ionescu, died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Negrasi, Romania, she was the daughter of the late Florea and Niculina (Scurtescu) Stoenescu. She attended schools there, then lived in Bucharest Romania for many years, where she worked in a factory that produced chemicals and theater cosmetics. Mrs. Ionescu emigrated to the United States, settling in New York City where she lived for nearly 18 years, then moved to Peabody two months ago to be close to her family here. She enjoyed crochet and knitting, listening to music and loved Andrea Boccelli, as well as displaying her gifted talents as a Seamstress and Tailor making her own dresses and other clothing. She will be dearly missed by her family, including: two daughters, Steliana Sut of Peabody and Lucia Baudet of Switzerland; a granddaughter and her spouse, Michelle & Mark Branciforte of Peabody; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Nicholas Branciforte of Peabody; a brother Stefan Stoenescu, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Valeria Alexandreseu besides her husband and parents. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST. location, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
