Obituary of Kenneth M. Howarth

Kenneth M. Howarth, 80, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Despina (George) Howarth. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Richard and Jeannette (Alexander) Howarth. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School. He was a veteran of World War II, who served with the United States Navy and was honorable discharged on June 2, 1946. He later worked for over 20 years for the City of Peabody at the Peabody Landfill, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the AF & AM Jordan Masonic Lodge in Peabody for over 50 years. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work, gardening and being outdoors. Mr. Howarth is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene Mistretta and Deborah Dever, both of Peabody and Lana and her husband David Stevenson of Middleton, a brother and a sister, Richard Howarth and Dorothy Bateman, both of Peabody, and is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason and David Mistretta and Leigh Ann Dever. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody
