Obituary of John Henry Nolan Jr.

John Henry Nolan Jr. 52, of Peabody, died Thursday at the Mass General Hospital, Boston after a 6 month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol Y. (Hidler) Nolan with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. He was born in Salem, Ma on August 3, 1952, the son of the late John H. and Marie (Robinson) Nolan Sr. and had had resided in Peabody most of his life. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1971 and was first employed at the Ferman Tanning Co. of Peabody for 13 years. He later worked for the past 20 years as a cooker with the Eastman Geletine Corp. of Peabody. He enjoyed shooting darts and was on the Dart Team as a # 1 Shooter at Tanners Café in Peabody. He had been a coach in the Pop Warner Football league in Peabody and enjoyed fishing and golf. He was also involved in many charitable fund raisers for the Children’ s Wish Foundation. Surviving him besides his wife are a son, John Henry Nolan III, and a daughter, Corine Marie Nolan both of Peabody, a brother, Edward Nolan of Salem, a sister, Mary Nolan of Beverly, a grandchild, Cody Ryan Nolan of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. There are no visiting hours. Burial will be at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mass. General Hospital, Oncology unit, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02215 in his memory.
