Obituary of Edward J. "Ted" Davis
Edward J. Ted Davis 44 years, husband of Gia (Lucas) Davis of Peabody, died Friday at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mr. Davis was born on March 15, 1960 in Brookline son of the late George and Mary (Cannon) Davis. He was raised in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School class of the 1978. Before moving to Peabody in 1995 he had resided in Brookline and Canton.
Ted was the best athlete in the Davis family according to his brother. He starred in hockey, culminating in being the MVP in the Bobby Orr Tournament. In baseball, he batted .500 in the Suburban League, Division One against the best of Brockton, Waltham & Arlington. He pitched, played 1st base and was awesome at the plate. As if these two sports weren’ t enough, Ted was the captain of the Brookline High Team that had a winning year. According to Ted, the culmination of the season was facing Patrick Ewing, who played for Cambridge Latin and had a long career in the NBA. Ted had to admit that Pat had the better of him that night. A lesser man might have told a different story! Ted was the best!
