Obituary of Katherine M. (Wodarski) Moroney

Katherine M. (Wodarski) Moroney, 92, of Peabody, wife of the late Maurice J. Moroney, died Sunday morning at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center in Peabody. Mrs. Moroney was born on December 10, 1914 in Salem daughter of the late Adam and Marianna (Falkowski) Wodarski. She was raised and educated in Salem. She moved to Peabody in 1955. Mrs. Moroney was employed for 23 years as a Sales Clerk at Jordan Marsh at the Northshore Shopping Center in Peabody. She was a communicant of St. Adelaide’s Church, was an avid reader and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging and attended the Peter Torigian Community Life Center. She is survived by 2 sons and their spouses, James J. and Jane Moroney of Hathorne, Thomas J. and Janet Moroney of Stow; a daughter, Sister Anne Marie Moroney, Sisters of Charity, of Kearny NJ; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Debbi Moroney of Chicago IL, Christine and Joseph Monahan of No Andover; 3 great grandchildren, Sarah and Dereck Monahan of No Andover and Liam Moroney of Chicago; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Her siblings Alex and Zygmunt Wodarski, Henrietta Horrigan, Helen Evans, Jane Fitzgerald, Irene Cooper pre deceased her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 9:15 to 10:30 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new facility) Peabody. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
