Obituary of Lillian (Callas) Lazarakis

Lillian (Callas) Lazarakis PEABODY—Lillian (Callas) Lazarakis, 85, beloved wife of Theodore Lazarakis of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening at the North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Soterios and Catherine (Voulgaris) Callas. She lived in Lynn for many years, and graduated from Lynn English High School. She lived in Peabody for the last 35 years. Mrs. Lazarakis worked a short period of time with GTE Sylvania in Danvers, and mostly worked as a Clerk in retail stores like Grant’s Dept. Store, Sanborn & Burroughs, among others. She also worked helping her Proprietor husband with Parkview Lunch by the Common in Lynn. Mrs. Lazarakis was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Disabled American Veterans, Ch. 100 of Peabody. She enjoyed drawing, sewing, and listening to Opera music. She was an avid basketball fan, and loved the Boston Celtics. She is survived by: her husband, Theodore Lazarakis of Peabody, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage last September; a sister, Emily Raticon of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters John Callas, George Callas, Anna Zaimes, Lena Rassias, Julie Odoardi, and Fannie Stratigakis. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. where her Funeral Service will be on Thursday at 12 Noon to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
