Obituary of Paraskevi "Fredia" (Masakos) Karazurna

Paraskevi “Fredia” (Masakos) Karazurna, 93, of Peabody wife of the late George Karazurna, died peacefully on Saturday 17, 2007 at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers with her family at her side. Mrs. Karazurna was born on June 10, 1913 in Greece daughter of the late Konstantinos and Kaleope Masakos. She immigrated to the United States in 1968 to live with her son Angelo. She resided in Salem & Danvers before moving to Peabody. Mrs. Karazurna was employed in the leather industry in Salem & Peabody for many years. She was an active member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, loved sewing, crocheting and gardening. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of Angelo and Anna Karazurna of Tucson AZ and Kosta and Kimberly Karazurna of Middleton; the proud grandmother of George Karazurna of AZ and Chrissy and Nikki Karazurna of Middleton. Her 3 sisters and 2 brothers pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. (downtown location) Peabody followed by a service at 10 a.m. in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
