Obituary of Daniel T. O'Connell
Daniel T. O’Connell, 79, of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Sadie (Haddad) O’Connell, died unexpectedly Saturday February 17, 2007 at his home.
Mr. O’Connell was born on July 16, 1927 in Charlestown son of the late Patrick and Mary (Deasy) O’Connell. He was raised and educated in Charlestown. During WWII, as a private in the U.S. Army, he was a cook with the 9201 TSU TC 10th Regiment @ CP Kilmer NJ. He resided in Somerville before moving to Peabody 25 years ago.
Mr. O’Connell was employed for 30 years as a shipper receiver with the Americold Warehouse Company in South Boston until his retirement in 1989. He was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody and a member of the Polish Club in Danvers.
He is survived by his 5 loving daughters and their spouses, Suzanne and Eric Kenney of Beverly, Sheila and Richard Crotts of Danvers, Elaine and Joseph Donoghue of MD, Judy and Chris Schenk of CO and Carlene Tarasuk of FL; his cherished grandchildren, Tara McFarland, Liam, Christopher and Adrian Schenk, Philip, Katrina & Peter Crotts, Rachael, Matthew and Jonathan Kenney and 5 nieces. His siblings, John, William, Henry, Mary and Catherine O’Connell pre deceased him.
His funeral will be held on Saturday February 24, 2007 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., (downtown) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Salem-Peabody line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
