Obituary of Pauline D. (Schickling) Fitiles

Pauline D. (Schickling) Fitiles, 80, wife of the late James Fitiles and loving mother of Georges James Fitiles who pre deceased her in 1992. She died Friday February 16, 2007 in Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport after a brief illness. Mrs. Fitiles was born on March 9, 1926 in Lynn the daughter of the late George and Dorothea (Eaton) Schickling. She was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School. Three years ago she moved to Newburyport to be closer to her family. She resided in New Jersey and then in Delray Beach Florida for many years. Mrs. Fitiles was the bookkeeper in the James Fitiles Steeple Jack Co. in New Jersey, which was owned & operated by her husband. She later worked at Capitol Lighting in NJ until her retirement in 1983. She was an avid photographer and collected thousands of photos of family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and gifted family and friends with her beautiful work throughout the years. Mrs. Fitiles is survived by 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean D. and Nene “Sonny” Terruso of Newburyport and Georgiana Salsman of Saugus; her loving nieces and caretakers Judith A. (Terruso) Lima, Jean M. (Terruso) McCarthy and a nephew, Joseph N. Terruso; a step son, Stephen Fitiles, many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews and a dear friend, Inka Adlington of FL. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at Merrimack Place Assisted Living in Newburyport and several friends in Delray Beach FL. Her siblings Lavinia O’Connell and Marilyn Weyland pre deceased her. A visitation and service will be held in Boca Raton FL. Local arrangements by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
