Obituary of Russell Noyes

Russell L. Noyes PEABODY—Russell L. Noyes, 75, beloved husband of Margaret (Bryson) Noyes, died Saturday afternoon at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a brief illness. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late William R. and Helen G. (Russell) Noyes, he was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mr. Noyes was a veteran of the Korean War, with service in the United States Army, and was decorated with two Bronze Stars. He worked in his family business, Noyes Hardware in Swampscott for several years. He later was Owner/Operator of the Shipyard Galley Restaurant in Marblehead for many years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Marblehead. He enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables, yet one of his most rewarding activities was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family, including: his wife, Margaret (Bryson) Noyes of Peabody; three sons, William Noyes of Beverly, Peter Noyes of FL, and John Noyes of Fort Bragg, NC; two daughters, Mary “Patti” Cottone of Middleton and Elizabeth “Beth” McCarthy of Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Burgess of Manchester, MA, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
