Obituary of Bessie George

Bessie George PEABODY—Bessie George, who was sick only a short time in Salem Hospital, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening at the Pilgrim Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Andreadis) George. She attended Peabody schools, graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Miss George was a longtime Secretary with her brother’s agency of A.J. George Insurance Agency of Peabody. She was a lifelong member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed travel to many places throughout the world. She is survived by: two brothers and a sister-in-law, Anthony George of Peabody and Nicholas & Stella George of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lieutenant Charles George, and a sister Catharine George. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in ST. VAsilios Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the St. VAsilios Altar Fund, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960.
