Obituary of Wayne J. Cyr

Wayne J. Cyr, 55, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home. He was the devoted husband of Charlotte (Pelletier) Cyr with whom he shared over 24 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John and Thirley Mae (O’Brien) Cyr. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1971. He later lived in West Newbury and has spent the last 10 years living in Peabody. For the past 25 years he was employed with the Stahl USA Company in Peabody of which he spent the last 17 years in the shipping/receiving department. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Elks Golf League; he also enjoyed darts and played in the Minuteman Dart League. He was an avid walker and New England Patriots Fan as well. He especially loved to sing and often could be found singing Karioke at the VFW Hall and Court House Pub, both in Peabody. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and in association with the Tanners Bar in Peabody, he would ride for the Make- A-Wish Foundation, helping to raise money for children with terminal illnesses. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two step-sons, Robert Wear Jr., and Peter Wear, both of Peabody, a brother Dana Cyr and his wife Caroline Reed of Sarasota, FLA., a sister, Leeann and her husband, John Thurell of Lynn, a granddaughter, Kiaralys Wear of Peabody and his “second” mother, Eileen L’Italien of Salem. He was the brother of the late Valerie Montibello. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 7:45 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 until 7:45 PM. Cremation will follow the service on Tuesday.
