Obituary of Ellen E. (Ahonen) Berg

Ellen E. (Ahonen) Berg, 81, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Eino Berg. Born in West Barnstable, MA, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Hanna (Sippola) Ahonen. She was raised and educated in Barnstable and graduated from Barnstable High School. After high school, she attended Cape Cod Secretarial School for a year. Several years ago, she moved to Peabody and became a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Peabody. She was very dedicated to her church and her family. She is survived by a son and daughter, Paul and Linda Berg, both of Peabody, a brother, Vaino Ahonen of Hohokus, NJ, a sister, Lillian Ahokas of Hyannis, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late William Berg and sister of the late Olavi and Toivo Ahonen. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, corner of King St., and Ellsworth Rd., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility.
