Obituary of Claire M. (Pinto) Judge

Claire M. (Pinto) Judge, 72, of Peabody, wife of the late Melvin H. Judge, died unexpectedly March 3, 2007 at Salem hospital after being stricken at home. Mrs. Judge was born on May 24, 1934 in Fall River daughter of the late Vito D. and Dora Y. (Bolduc) Pinto. She was raised in Fall River and graduated from Rogers High School class of 1952. She resided in RI before moving to Peabody in 1964. Mrs. Judge began her working career on the Navy Base in Newport RI. She was then employed as a civil service secretary for 27 years with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT/TSA) in Cambridge until her retirement in 1994. Her family was first and foremost and she was very involved at St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody as a CCD teacher, greeter, choir member, the couples club, the Blue Bird Camp Fire Girl and the Italian Ladies Auxiliary. She also loved swimming, writing and painting. Mrs. Judge is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael E. Judge of Newport RI, Debra A. and Michael Lewis of Shirley NY, David A. Judge of Peabody and Janet M. and Michael Brown of Wilmington MA; a brother, Robert Pinto of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 sisters and their spouses, MaryAlice Pierson of Nowata OK, Pauline Albon of Fruitland Park FL and Eileen and David McCann of West Milford NJ; 7 grandchildren, Jolene and Nicole Beaulieu, Hunter and Krissa Lewis, Alyssa Judge, Kristin and Michael Brown; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A granddaughter, Leah Lewis and a brother, Roy D. Pinto pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held Friday March 9, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Adelaide’s Church, 17 Bow St., Peabody MA 01960.
